TRAI has issued a directive to Aircel Group to facilitate mobile number portability for subscribers following the company's decision to surrender its licenses in six service areas. The authority mandates the immediate generation and communication of Unique Porting Codes (UPCs) to all affected subscribers. Additionally, TRAI has granted an exemption from the ninety-day porting restriction to ensure subscribers can switch providers before the service discontinuation date. All UPCs are directed to remain valid until March 10, 2018. This measure aims to protect consumer interests during the transition period.
