This policy brief presents the findings of a study conducted in Delhi, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh to review and update evaluation tools for the Programmatic Management of Drug Resistant Tuberculosis (PMDT). The study identified significant gaps, including human resource shortages, minimal private sector engagement, and a lack of drug transport mechanisms. Revised evaluation tools and core indicators were developed to align with the 2017 PMDT guidelines. The report recommends integrating these tools into the RNTCP evaluation mechanism to improve MDR-TB treatment outcomes. The project was supported by the ICMR and The Global Fund.
