This policy brief evaluates the effectiveness of the Family DOTS strategy in improving TB treatment adherence in the Kondagaon district of Chhattisgarh. The study found that Family DOTS did not significantly improve cure rates or treatment completion compared to standard DOTS facilities. In fact, the study observed higher rates of death and loss to follow-up in the Family DOTS group. Researchers recommend that family members may require additional training to become effective DOTS providers.
