The Central Government has appointed Shri Dinesh Pant, Managing Director of LIC, as a Whole-Time Member (Actuary) in the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI). The appointment is for a period of five years from the date of assumption of charge, or until he attains the age of 65, or until further orders, whichever is earliest. He will receive a consolidated pay package of five lakh rupees per month without house or car facilities.
