The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released draft regulations to amend the Telecommunication Mobile Number Portability Regulations, 2009. The proposed amendment introduces a requirement that a period of ten days must expire from the date of a SIM replacement before a request for a unique porting code can be made.
