TRAI Notification on Telecom Commercial Communications Customer Preference (Ninth Amendment) Regulations 2012

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has issued the Ninth Amendment to the Telecom Commercial Communications Customer Preference Regulations, 2010. This amendment introduces stricter disconnection rules for telemarketers found sending unsolicited commercial communications. If a telemarketer is blacklisted for sending unsolicited promotional messages, only their promotional resources will be disconnected. However, if they are blacklisted for sending unsolicited transactional messages, both their transactional and promotional resources will be disconnected.
