TRAI Direction to Reliance Communications regarding 2G service disruption and Mobile Number Portability

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has issued a formal direction to Reliance Communications Limited following reports of 2G service disruptions and difficulties faced by subscribers in porting their mobile numbers. The Authority noted that customers were unable to generate unique porting codes due to network shutdowns and non-functional customer care services. Reliance is directed to provide reasons for the service disruptions and ensure compliance with Quality of Service standards.
