The Central Government reduced the statutory EPF contribution rate from 12% to 10% for wage months May, June, and July 2020 under the Atmanirbhar Bharat package. This measure aims to provide liquidity relief to employees and employers during the pandemic. Employers can remit dues at the reduced rate through the Electronic-Challan cum Return (ECR) portal. The reduction does not impact pension contributions or benefits.
