Grant of Additional Dearness Relief to Central Government Pensioners Effective from January 2026

The Employees Provident Fund Organisation has circulated an Office Memorandum regarding the enhancement of Dearness Relief for Central Government pensioners and family pensioners. The Dearness Relief rate has been increased from 58% to 60% of the basic pension, effective from January 1, 2026. This revision applies to all categories of Central Government pensioners, including those from the Armed Forces and Railway services. Pension disbursing banks and the offices of the Accountant General are instructed to arrange payments accordingly. The order was issued in accordance with the Ministry of Finance guidelines.
