The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has issued a public warning regarding fraudulent individuals and agencies posing as TRAI officials. These scammers falsely claim that mobile numbers will be disconnected due to unsolicited messages or illegal activities linked to AADHAAR numbers. TRAI clarifies that it does not block or disconnect any individual mobile numbers and does not authorize any agency to contact customers for such purposes. The public is advised to treat any such calls or messages as fraudulent. Affected individuals are encouraged to report incidents to their service providers or the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal.
