The Department of Personnel and Training has issued guidelines regarding paid holidays for Central Government employees during bye-elections in Bihar, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh. Central Government offices, including industrial establishments, in the notified areas will remain closed on the day of the poll. Employees who are bona-fide voters in the relevant constituencies are entitled to special casual leave on the polling day. This leave also applies to employees registered as voters in a constituency but working in a Central Government organization located outside that constituency. The order aims to facilitate voter participation in the bye-elections scheduled for July 30, 2026.
