The Department of Personnel and Training has issued instructions regarding paid holidays for Central Government employees in connection with bye-elections to Assembly Constituencies in Bihar, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh. The polling date for these bye-elections is fixed for July 30, 2026. Central Government offices and industrial establishments in the notified areas will remain closed on the day of the poll. Employees who are bona-fide voters in the relevant constituencies are entitled to special casual leave on the polling day. This leave also applies to employees registered as voters in the constituency but working in offices located outside the constituency.
