• The Central Government has appointed October 1, 2026, as the effective date for the implementation of the ESI scheme in Gujarat.
• This applies to the entire areas of 15 non-implemented districts and 16 partially implemented districts.
• Employers and employees in these areas must now contribute under Section 29.
• Employees will become eligible for benefits under Chapter IV of the ESI Act from this date.
