Jurisdictional Allocation for Authorised Officers to Levy and Recover Damages under Social Security Code 2020

The EPFO has issued a circular modifying the jurisdictional allocation for officers authorized to levy and recover damages under Sections 125 and 128 of the Code on Social Security, 2020. Jurisdiction is now determined based on the subscriber strength (contributory UANs) of the establishment in the month prior to the default period. Existing cases must be re-assigned by the Officers-in-Charge of Regional Offices by August 7, 2026. These provisions do not apply to establishments currently undergoing proceedings under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016. This directive modifies the previous circular dated July 13, 2026.
